Imagine living life without the burden of routine tasks. With the Me Two Personal Assistant Clone, that fantasy becomes reality. Some unforeseen manufacturing errors have led to minor malfunctions within the otherwise meticulously engineered fleet of robots. The short film Penny follows the story of one such case.
Written and directed by Ben Fraternale, watch the film below:
I'm Ben Fraternale, director of Penny (my clone assistant-directed). We presently drift toward a world of bioengineered humans, fitted with ever-evolving tech to make us a more advanced species. First it's smart-prosthetics, then it's augmented contact lenses, and one day our ears will emit wifi (ideally).
The concept for Penny came to me while pondering this trend. What if the best version of you was really a robotic-you? Wouldn't that clone be better, smarter, harder working, and even better at ping pong than you? It's a stirring thought (particularly the ping pong dilemma), and it blossomed into the Penny short film. Paired with a wonderful cast and crew, this concept became an on-screen reality, and until it becomes our off-screen reality, watch and enjoy!
